Luckilly we were only their for an afternoon.
I would not recommend as a young Familly destination, I can casinosaga forum at night time with a group of lads or girls it might be a good laugh, albeit on the risky side.
I was genuinly suprised at the general condition and cleanlisness of the place.
The promenade and beach were filthy, the buildings run down, the "hotels" and "restaurants" were looked unbelievable!!
We had a ride on the donkeys and on the horse and "carridge", and I can honestly say they were unbelievably dirty and the staff were very abrupt and unhelpful.
Generally I was very suprised that the council have allowed Blackpool, which has a generally good name, to become so run down, I can't think of many towns and cities in the UK that have been allowed to deteriorate into that condition.
Sympathise very much, seems to be geared to stag and hen parties.
Council has said it's going to clean things up and certainly a lot of money is being spent.
Maybe your grandchildren could come in a few years time?
Read in the Gazette yesterday that they are planning on capping the number of lap dancing clubs.
How about zero as a figure!
That would certainly send out the right kind of message.
Paul I think you are being a little bit well extremely harsh on in general though.
I go there 4 or 5 times a year - with my young family - and my kids enjoy nowhere else anywhere near as much.
The promenade is anything but filthy, but is in fact undergoing a major transformation which if the New South Prom is anything to go by will be stunning when it's finished.
Unsure why you felt the need to put hotels and restaurants into quotation marks as well as they are quite clearly them.
Admittedly some could do with more than a lick of paint but the others which have seemingly made a real effort unfair of me to name names look truly magnificent.
Then remember you have all the investment at over the winter, the new look and awesome Sandcastle.
As well as old favourites such asDr Who Museum and Sea Life Centre, and I would argue with ANYBODY that Blackpool is and will continue to be midweek at least!
Seconded Doc - we are currently looking for a weekend break to take the kids yikes!
Have been to twice and although it has everything we need, we've been there, done that and the public transport is a nightmare with a buggy.
And with all due respect, I live here and have been there done that, even bought the kiss me quick hat lol!
Either that or we'll stay at home and just have trips out lol!
Re Lap Dancing They are not allowing any new clubs to open which leaves with an amazing 13 clubs.
Well it is a start.
The council are also looking at kicking out 'beggers' from the centre of Blackpool and then hopefully it is onto dodgy stallholders and hopefull Scotties Got It Yes is a dirty holiday resort and much of the problem lies with the council.
They have removed many of the litter bins throughout Blackpool - The excuse being that people were putting the wrong type of litter in them so now there is nowhere for casinosaga forum to put any litter.
There are a number of places where the drains are blocked, which means that vehicle drivers risk soaking pedestrians with dirty water from the gutters - in some places the water lies most of the way across the street - The road junction just outside is a good example.
Until Blackpool council gets it's act together and deals with problem of dirty streets then the town will remain dirty.
As far as the landaus are concerned, they are obviously not inspected often enough.
It was suggested some time ago that the landau drivers should wear a smart uniform - I don't know what happened about that idea.
If there do happen to be any Blackpool councillors on this forum perhaps they would like to answer check this out origanal posting and say what improvements they intend to make and solve the casinosaga forum regards Gismo The trouble with the blackpool council is that they have to have a meeting about a meeting, they are all talk and no action.
It takes them so long to do anything.
It does not take many brains to work out what needs to be done in to make it a better place just CLEAN IT UP.
Close the sruffy shops and hotels that drag blackpool down or maybe give them an insentive to smarten their own places up, like giving them so many months with reduced or may be no rates.
The money that they saves must be put back into doing the buildings up.
There is a very good example in Bond St, which I think is an extremly dirty tacky street.
The sandwich shop there called tutie fruitie have made a fantastic example of how it can be improved with out knocking it down.
What a shame the rest of the shop owners don't take a leaf out of his book.
As for all the rubbish that people are leaving all over the promanade, you would think that after the council has spent millions improving it, they would give on the spot fines to these litter bugs.
You would soon see an improvment then.
They might take it home with them and get rid of it properly.
After all if you pee on the road you get an fined and so they should so why room best florida poker fine the litter bugs as well.
Sorry to hear you were disappointed with your visit to Paul.
I was born and brought up in and have been visiting Blackpool as often as possible for as long as I can remember from being a child myself to visiting with my own children and now even taking my 5 yr old grandson to Blackpool and I still love the place.
However on my last visit in June this year when I actually visited by myself I did feel that parts of the town were looking a little run down and I also thought a lot of places were closing rather early.
The casinosaga forum beach is brilliant, the tower, stanley park, the zoo.
The list is endless.
The promenade will be lovely when it's all finished.
As for staff being abrupt and unhelpful, you maybe just got someone on a bad day.
One of the things that always impresses me is just how helpful and friendly everyone is.
I do hope the council take on board peoples concerns about the town.
It's a real shame if people like yourself are being put off visiting for whatever reason.
In part I agree, it seems to vary depending on when you're there.
If everywhere took Coral Island's view and made the outside look DAMN impressive, the seafront would look amazing!
There's no reason for them not to doll up a bit!
My personal gripe is the tacky seafront shops.
Yeah its okay if you want to go in and look around, but check this out look like the sort of crappy shops you'd see on any shopping precinct, but flowing out the doors with wigs and knickers with bums on and rude t-shirts and phallic shaped rock.
Im sure you know what I mean though.
But equally, I will always see beauty in Blackpool, and if you go there intending to see the bad things, you will, but I always love going, so any improvements would simply be a bonus to me!
If you owned any business earmarked for destruction for a Supercasino would you spend any money on it?
