golden gate casino las vegas nevada I don't ever remember a more friendlier staff at any casino I've ever spent time in.
I love bouncing around casinos and there's no better place to do this than downtown - this was my first visit inside this nostalgic venue, and it was definitely love at first sight.
We came here to play cards and up to this point that meant Texas Hold'em, traditional or ultimate it seems every casino has some form of this table game in their repertoire the only game that has more versions and more presence is blackjack.
As we were looking over our options I noticed a lone card table hosting a game that has almost gone extinct in today's modern casino - if I had to tag a card game that's paid me the most money over the years there's no doubt it's "Let it Ride".
Three days in Vegas and this place rocked it the best and it has nothing to do with winning or losing - if you want to click a few hours of fun this is where you'll find the locals, the music, the dancing dealers and good vibes.
Now don't get me wrong Spyder is great and so is Jedi!
He is attentive, has a great personality and holds a great conversation!
Along with managers Todd and Eric whom I had the pleasure of meeting this weekthis is home away from home.
I am a local and I wouldn't go anywhere else to drink, talk or gamble!!
Every worker I have come across here has made me feel welcome, safe and happy!
Whether your a local or tourist check out this classic gem!
Keep Rudy's name in mind because he casinos las publicly traded vegas the best you'll come across in all of downtown on Fremont!
But it is definitely not as terrible as the other reviews would make it out!
Rooms are somewhat small and a little noisy if you're unlucky enough to get the Fremont Street side- I didn't!
PROS: - Cheap accom - Cheap Drinks - Great location CONS: - No amenities onsite.
You have to walk to the O Hotel and use theirs.
I definitely had a good time here and would considering staying again if I needed a cheap hotel at the last for history of las vegas casino opinion />Casinos in Vegas don't get any older than Golden Gate.
It has been around longer than nearly every other structure in the city.
The hotel part definitely looks like it's been there a long time.
It smells in the casino.
They also used to have a restaurant.
The building has been there almost forever.
It opened as the Hotel Nevada in 1906.
This eventually became the casino and hotel it is today.
Like many casinos on Fremont, it's easily accessible.
This is located very close to Binion's and the Golden Nugget.
It's easy to move between each.
There's also many other casinos that aren't far.
As for the hotel, it's old but it's been getting renovated for awhile.
The dining options have suffered since the Du-Par's restaurant closed a few years ago.
It was known for the cheap shrimp cocktail.
They also had big pancakes.
If you stay in the hotel you should know it can get loud at night.
This is right next to the Fremont Street Experience main stage.
Golden Gate is the oldest place you can stay in Vegas.
It sure looks and smells like it.
The prices aren't that bad, and it's close to many other things on Fremont Street.
I go to bar and three slot machines are out of service, is the Golden Gate closing how do you have three machine in a role out of service??
Love staying at this place, very friendly staff that makes you feel at home.
On my last visit, I had set a bag down with my medications inside.
I lost track of it and thought it was gone!
Security was on top of it, they had my bag in back room!!
Special Thanks to Security and Staff for helping me out!
Will be back again!!
You gotta watch Robert De Niro shine in Casino to truly appreciate this place.
It makes Old La Vegas seem so intoxicating.
This casino has history for days.
Some of it it scary but most of it is cool AF.
The bar service is out this world.
They just refuse to allow an empty glass.
Low buy in and good pay outs in the casino.
At least for a short time.
But I SUCK and should never gamble with other people's money.
Call girls, good drinks, decent rooms, even glitter.
Grab a martini at the bar and take a walk around.
I walked in with a buzz and some how skated out the door still wearing pants so I'm a fan.
They are suppose to be making more improvements to the the casino so slots should be getting better.
When I lived in the area, I used to frequent the Golden Gate for fun Fremont entertainment and a decent drink.
This past visit was the first time I have ever stayed there.
The rooms are smaller but they have that good Old Vegas feel.
We had a room that looked over main street and was in a perfect, Fremont accessible area.
The staff was friendly, the casino was always buzzing and it was close to everything you needed.
The only downside of this hotel is that there is not a restaurant, gym or pool on premise.
You have to leave the hotel but you do have full access to anything at The D.
Plus, they still have free parking!
TAKE THAT BASICALLY EVERYWHERE ON THE STRIP!
If you have come to Vegas and have never done Fremont, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
It's easy and the people are nice.
PLUS, it's close enough yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Fremont so you can still walk to get coffee in the morning and not have to fight your way through drunks and people who clearly haven't gone to sleep yet.
I will definitely be choosing the Golden Gate for all of source future Fremont stays.
The review is for their outside bar.
Perfect location - in the heart of Fremont experience!
An eye catching bar - colorful presentation of the drinks they offer.
Pricing is alright but be careful not to fall on the trap to make your drinks for a double shotmeaning double of the standard price.
Wishing we found time to be inside and tried their casino service.
Maybe on next visit.
Modern, newly renovated, and well-designed rooms.
Very clean and just steps from the Fremont Street Experience!
Just steps from the Fremont Street Experience.
While this isn't technically the hotel's fault, perhaps some basic sound-proofing should have gone into the recent remodel.
The noise from the street makes it nearly impossible to engage in quiet conversation or enjoy any in-room entertainment that isn't drowned out.
If you're up partying all night, this could just be the hotel for you.
For the rest of us, maybe reconsider.
We were expecting noise from activities on Frontier street and were advise so upon check in!
What we were not expecting was construction noise all night long!
You go to bed after 1:30 am and construction wakes you up before 5 am!
Everyone doesn't go to bed drunk and some of us don't appreciate lack of concern for sleep!
Hotel charged for upgraded room!
Sorry but it was a lousy stay!
Will stay elsewhere from now on!
Well let's see where to start.
So I go to check in and my room isn't even ready.
Staff is rude as hell.
And when I asked to speak to a supervisor no one could be found.
I can't even go into how please click for source I was.
I was there for my 40th birthday this was supposed to be an amazing g trip for me and they totally ruined that for me.
And I kept getting burned or frozen while in the shower.
This casino has a messed up table.
They landed on 00 Casino what so ever.
I would not recommend this I went to sign up for the Circa Sports app and Kieth was very helpful.
The process was easy and Kieth was very informative.
Thank you for making this a pleasant experience!
You will not sleep if you get room 221!
You will also not be able to get into you bathroom.
If you do manage to get in through the space available since the door hits the toilet about half way you will see you have about the same room in the shower that drains water all over the bathroom floor.
You have nowhere to put your tooth brush or anything else on the counter space unless you want to put it all on the toilet.
No fan to get the steam out either.
The room was suppose to have a "view".
It didn't what you could see was the back of the sign and parts of a stage that played music literally all night and shook the old paneled windows.
Once that music was over at about three or four am you got to listen to the around the clock base from the slots below you.
We had to go down and change rooms the final night third night to a room that had windows that were against a wall and didn't open.
Totally prison like windows.
The bathroom however was a definite upgrade because two people could actually fit in it at once.
I believe this room was 242.
There was no dining or pool or anything at the location.
You had to go to another hotel to get that and they still charged you a resort fee which is straight bs.
I would not recommend this hotel.
However it is literally on Fremont.
This classic hotel feels like you've gone back in time.
The classic dark wood, red colors, throwback uniforms of the pit bosses and dealers and gogo dancers near the poker tables.
Even the rooms give off that vibe.
We've stayed here several times due to the location of the powerlifting competition held at the hotel next door.
We reserved 2 rooms for 4 nights at a really reasonable price.
The only stinger is the resort fees associated after you've purchased your rooms.
Other than that, it's a fun place to hang out and get the Freemont Experience.
That in itself is an 'experience'!!
Would've gave 5 stars but had to do 4 for the resort fees.
It's been awhile since I've been here so maybe they have remodeled but it's was supposed to be remodeled when we did go.
We stay 2x first time get 4 stars it was decent cheap and it was a place to sleep.
Ac didn't work but no other rooms were Available so they brought us a fan.
They should have refunded us it's over 100 degrees in the summer in June and our ac doesn't work we get a fan wtf.
We would have left and went home but we had already pre booked shows.
It was gunna be a tradition for us for our anniversary but frankly we haven't been back here or to Vegas due to the horrible experience we had here.
If you book through a third party I.
Yes, I did book through a third party, but my experience this far has been ridiculous.
I called the day before to the hotel and to Expedia to ensure that I would be getting two queens in my non-smoking room.
When I got to the front desk to check in, they said the only available room they had left was a smoking room with one king bed, and there was nothing else available.
I said that one of my guests have asthma, and ALL OF A SUDDEN, she now has a non-smoking room available.
So she was lying.
Did we ever get that bed?
To get lied to at the front desk, twice.
Like I said before.
If you book through a third party, expect to be lied to AND to receive bad service.
Why did I give two stars instead of one?
The room was nicer than I expected.
But there's hardly any outlets in the room, and all the ones on the lamp don't work so.
Their actual rating is like 1.
This is another decent hotel and casino located in the Fremont Street Experience area.
Another I have visited a lot and this recent trip was not exception.
This is the smallest 122 rooms and the oldest hotel in the Fremont Street Experience area.
This hotel really has a ton of history.
The Hotel Nevada opened on this site in January 1906 and was the very first hotel structure in Las Vegas.
To bad there not one dollar a day now.
Las Vegas's first telephone was in this hotel.
The hotels casino operated until 1909 when gambling became illegal but it still operated the hotel.
When gambling became legal again in 1931 they opened a casino once again and renamed it Sal Sagev which is Las Vegas spelled backwards.
The Golden Gate Casino opened at the Sal Saveg in 1955, the name came from the Golden Gate Bridge.
In 1974 the entire was named The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino.
In 2012 the hotel started its first major renovation in 50 years and this when started with the having the scantily classes women at the gaming tables called dancing dealers.
I think this is when they started the women dancing on the bars too.
See my picture of the women dancing on Golden Gates outdoor bar.
It's certainly has changed a ton since my first visit here.
All these downtown Hotels and Casino are continually improving.
The dancing dealers are nice as well as the other employees here.
You can't talk about the Golden Gate without mentioning shrimp cocktails.
In the late 50's they started selling 50 cent shrimp cocktails and they didn't raise the price until 1991.
These shrimp cocktails are popular and very tasty.
I've eaten a bunch of them.
Sadly, in February of 2017 another piece of famous Las Vegas history disappeared.
Du-Par's Restaurants closed there.
So, boo boo no more shrimp cocktails.
Supposedly they are at some point going to bring them back, I sure hope so.
If they do everyone on the planet needs to go get one.
Maybe I should open up a restaurant in there and sell them.
Rooms here are pretty inexpensive, not luxurious but clean and comfortable.
They have added some suites and stuff in the last few years but I haven't seen them.
I'm sure they are very nice and inexpensive.
Would like to try their Golden Gate Suites one day.
Be neat just to say I've stayed at the oldest place in Vegas.
This is another nice, solid and improving hotel and casino in the Fremont Street Experience.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights.
Problems I had was the shower, couldn't find the right temperature because it would be either way too hot or very cold.
The shower head isn't adjustable either.
Theres no fridge so don't bring back leftovers.
The pillows were two small square pillows.
Theres no AC in the room.
The casino was alright.
First time in Vegas read more this looks promising for a good price??
Anything specific I should know?
I haven't used Groupon, but I stay there at least once a month.
Get a suite or a deluxe room- they are worth it for the sound proofing and size of the room.
I love this hotel.
I don't ever remember a more friendlier staff at any casino I've ever spent time in.
I love bouncing around casinos and there's no better place to do this than downtown - this was my first visit inside this nostalgic venue, and it was definitely love at first sight.

Music is better today, not the rap crap.
Bar tender iare great as normal would spent more time here but music normally sucks.
Maybe change music to crow, rodeo week maybe play country music like other hotels.
When boss is in hotel hang on the music is SUPER loud.
I guess to warm employees that Derick is in hotel.
Honestly https://bannerven.com/las-vegas/fremont-casino-downtown-las-vegas.html it out if music goes up Derick is in hotel.
They need to issue ear plugs as you enter hotel, music is way to loud.
You want to be able to talk to other people you are with, but have yell at each other to have a conversation.
Ok, the Rodeo is town and the news says it brings in over 15 million per day?
So at the Golden Gate they are still playing the normal kind of rap crap, with over 200,000 cowboys and cow girls in town you would think that they would play some country music like they play at other casino and on Fremont street.
I guess they do not want cowboy to visit???????????
I got a nose bleed with the music tonight!!!
I've been back 8 or 9 times since golden gate casino las vegas nevada review, I get great service a bar.
Not sure what happened last time on floor but service has been great I've been back 8 or 9 times since last review, I get great service a bar.
Not sure what happened last time on floor but service has been great.
Vara is great, not sure of spelling I'm playing three card poker and I try to cash out Craig gives me a hard time.
I lost and just admit your dealer is good and I suck?
And to make it worst I asked hot Jack and Diet and it was like we'll drink and so kind of diet Great job on the remodel it Looks great.
Nice to seen older casino's putting money into them to keep them popular with young guests.
I alway love to play a bar and tablet games.
Dealers and bar tenders are always friendly and fun to play with.
